Dive into the enchanting world of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s beloved Into the Woods Jr. — where classic fairy tales collide in a whimsical, heartfelt adventure! Follow the Baker and his wife on their quest to break a witch’s curse, join Cinderella at the festival, help Jack with his beanstalk dreams, and encounter Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and more. “Be careful what you wish for” — but we promise your child will wish for an unforgettable summer like this!

This isn’t your average camp show. Our three consecutive Summer Intensive Theatre Camps deliver exceptional instruction, real rehearsals (including some pre-camp prep), professional-level blocking, choreography, and music integration — culminating in polished, standout performances that wow audiences.

Come experience the magic live! We invite the community to our six Into the Woods Jr.performances with a Pay What You Will donation model — making high-quality theatre accessible to all:

  • Fridays: July 17, 24, & 31 at 7:00 PM
  • Saturdays: July 18, 25, & August 1 at 2:00 PM

Our Summer Theatre experience differs from many other camps in two main ways: preparation and expectations.

Key Benefits:

  • Intensive, Rewarding Experience — Students build lasting friendships, gain confidence, and master the art of bringing a full musical to life under expert guidance.
  • Two Unique Performances Per Camp — Each week ends with thrilling Friday night (7:00 PM) and Saturday matinee (2:00 PM) shows that showcase every student’s growth and talent.
  • Three Camp Weeks Focused on the Same Show — July 20-25 (still open!), plus earlier weeks — all leading to six magical performances across late July and early August.

Calling All MS & HS Theatre Stars: Become a Camp Counselor!
Rising middle school and high school students — step up as a Camp Counselor and gain an incredible, hands-on leadership experience! Work side-by-side with talented theatre professionals, guide and inspire our younger campers (grades 3–8) as they bring Into the Woods Jr. to life, assist with rehearsals, blocking, choreography, music, and fun daily activities, and help create those magical “aha” moments on stage.

You’ll build real directing/mentoring skills, deepen your own theatre knowledge, make lasting connections in the arts community, strengthen your resume for college auditions or future theatre pursuits, and enjoy the joy of seeing young performers grow in confidence and talent — all while being part of our tight-knit, faith-honoring Lancaster Academy family.
